Fundraising Ideas

Hey Class of 2012,

My fellow officers and I as well as our advisors have thought of some ideas but are really looking for your input on everything we carry out as a class. As far as fundraising goes we have thought of the following ideas...

  • Dodgeball Tournament (Open to whole school)
  • Dances (Open to freshman only)
  • Rock Band Tournament (Open to whole school)
  • HRHS Car Decals (Selling to anyone)
  • HRHS Boxers (Selling to anyone)
  • HRHS Gym bags (Selling to anyone)

Please help us add to this list!

From the Secretaries office:
Most of the stuff you guys was in the original post was it not? Well let me reiterate.

Videogame Competition
A dance of some sort
Talent show/Concert

Weve also decided on selling gym bags, boxers and tshirts with HRHS logos.

More Info on this subject to come.

A car wash would be super fun, as would a talent show. Something like a bake sale in actual communities would be great. This might be a little late to organize, but we could do something like sending candy corn (similar to the candy cane or carnation fundraisers) to other students because it is close to halloween! We could do little sport key chains near big sports games, like the Superbowl and World Series. Just some ideas.

Maybe we could do an open mike night at HRHS and charge about $4 dollars to get in!

PS. Ignore the whole rhonda and trixie thing. inside joke.

I like the t-shirts for the guys but i really think we should get some Long sleeve shirts geared more to girls maybe hrhs down the sleeve and 2012 on the back with ur name and the raider or something like that people could hand in ideas or we could take a vote on another shirt

Hey,
We are already starting to think about freshman dances and are planning to have quite a few. Also sports games fundraisers and competitions. The next peice of clothing I design I will be sure to make it more based on the girls then boys. I apologize for the first shirt.

I think Dances would be a good fundraising idea

Anonymous said...

i think dances are going to be the big thing.the middle school dances were huge. so many people loved them and its a shame to see barley any this year.

hey yo kids,
our first fundraiser is car window decals. ms streaker has asked me and jonny to find some parents or other adults to help sell them at school events. (etc: soccer games, gymnastics meets, PTA meetings) if you have an adult in mind who would be willing to help out, post it here or email me or jonny at:

"i think that peeps r delicious'

Relevant how?

Please guys, keep it on topic its a bit hard to read through nonsense in a wall of text and i can assure you, they arent funny. You could always fit humor into a well thought out response.

Gym shorts? idk just a random thought.

Anonymous said...

What about selling umbrellas with HRHS on them?

Anonymous said...

What about HRHS backpacks or mabey HRHS ipod covers.

Anonymous said...

i liked the idea they had before, HRHS bathing suits

Anonymous said...

how about cell phone cases or charms everyone has cell phones

Anonymous said...

for the dance idea what if we allow 10th grade too because they don't have many dances either and that would draw in more money

Anonymous said...

I like the Idea that Danielle said- Gym shorts

Anonymous said...

Hmm... what if we had like a dinner type thing, and had the freshman as waiters? And like have it cost money, and then have tip jars too? ...but then again we'd have to pay for food... hmm... a talent show would be cool too, or a 50-50 raffle? or rather a 25-75 raffle depending... or like a cake walk? have people bake cakes, and auction them off? idk...

Sarah :) said...

okay guys,
we need to think of other ideas besides attire. because we shouldnt be the ones putting money into our class account. the whole idea is to fundraise- other people help support our cause. so if we do sell clothing it should be opened up to the whole school because that way we will make so much more money! i understandd like this t-shirt idea or whatever, but just something to keep in mind.

Sarah :) said...

not just clothing but whatever we sell as well should be opened to the whole school....
forgot to add that

J. Flem said...

Sarah, exactly what i was going to say.

The point is not to get money from our class but from other people. If we wanted the money from us the dues would be $200

Kay said...

I totally agree with Sarah and Jamie.
If we're gonna continue with the whole clothing thing, it's true that more people will definately buy if it's available to the whole school. I like our 2012 tees, and whoever came up with the boxers idea deserves a medal, but boxers, long sleeve tees, etc., shouldn't have anything about our class of 2012 on it so that other grades will buy.

casey said...

yeah

and these 50-50 raffle ideas are something we might do in the band/chorus concerts, so we dont have to worry too much about those

Kay said...

I just wanna say, maybe not multiple dances, that's for middle school, and I think few dances would be more successful than several, we'd get bored of them.

Sarah :) said...

kay: yes! good idea.

see guys, i do think of good ideas! ;)

keep thinkin!

i think clothing is a good idea as long as it doesnt say stuff like class of 2012 etc. like the sweatpants they sold last year, so many people bought them because everyone could wear them

Anonymous said...

- clothing for the whole school is good
- one or two more dances are good <- maybe one being just 9th grade and the other being 9th and 10th

when is the Black and White dance anyways?

would we have time to have a dance before that?

Anonymous said...

yo how bout a talent show or a make a movie contest

The Black and White Dance is in November or December. It would be very difficult to schedule a dance before that. And guys please leave your names when you comment. It makes it easier for us get back to you and to let Ms. Streker or Ms. walker know whos giving us ideas. THanks

ok here are a few i came up with that i thought would be reasonable (or not)

-Pennants/Magnets/Etc.
-"Cheerleading" Shorts For Girls (clearly not around this time)
-Hats For Guys
-Silicone Wristband/Bracelet
-Movie Night (in auditorium)
-maybe candy or some other small thing for a fund raiser? cheaper that could be something for people who aren't as into "spirit" as others
(cough7thgraderscough)

if its not prohibited, make a survey and ask what people want.
but i'm just thinking out loud i guess

Anonymous said...

what about a dance for the whole school...you know grades 7-12.

Anonymous said...

Way too crazy!

Anonymous said...

I'm not sure we should do many dances because if you ask around not many people are planning to go to the black and white dance I think that we should not do many like two at the most.

thats because people dont want to dress up. if they were normal jeans and t-shirt dances i think more people would go.

Hello Class of 2012,

Some of you know me, and some don't. Nick T (DJ Nick), I came to some of your Middle School Dances back in 2006 to be an assistant DJ. I hope HRHS is going well without me there, I know I am not in your class and in the school anymore. I came across your blogger when I came across your Class of 2012 group, the link is not there anymore to the blogger, but I found my way back to this site, through the history of the sites I've visited.

The main reason I am typing in here is because I happened to have read some of your ideas, and many of you have mentioned about ideas to have a dance. I would like to come up and DJ one of your dances if you guys decide to have a class dance. I know that for a lot of the dances, students who fund raise for grad night, DJ them, I do not want to totally take that away from them, only like 2 dances. I try my best to be up to date on all of your favorite songs, I would provide lights to color your dance floor. If you are interested in having me up to DJ a dance, let your advisors and the school know. I hope it would not be a problem.
I don't really feel comfortable with DJ'ing another school's dance, it would not be the same, because I would not know anyone, and they would not know me, I want to DJ locally, not anywhere farther than HRHS.

If any of you in the class of 2012 would like me to DJ a class dance, and you have me as a friend on Myspace, facebook, or perhaps you have my aim screename, leave me a message letting me know.

Thanks for reading, Good luck 2012!

Nick T (DJ Nick)

P.S.: The comment above that was deleted, was mine.

what if at one of the dances we had some of the school band and student "garage" bands play going along with the battle of the bands idea

Anonymous said...

I think an end of the year dance for the freshman would be a cool idea, we could have people volunteer to bring in food/drinks to cut the costs and have a low-cost dj provide music. we could have it in the gym, and sell tickets for $7 or $10 and if a lot of people go, the class would make a good profit.
