Class Trips

As of now we have no definite ideas for class trips, we are looking for something that everyone is capable of participating in and that will unite us as a class. Give us some ideas and we will be sure to take them under consideration.
One idea I really liked was the High Ropes Course and I was also thinking a 5-day trip to Nature's Classroom in the Spring or early Summer. We would all stay together in the woods with our advisors and maybe some other volunteering teachers. It would be lots of fun and I am checking further into pricing and details.

From the Secretaries Office:
We've decided not to do a Ski Trip this year because it is not something everyone can do. Some people can ski but others would be left out in the cold.

See what i did there.....ski pun.

Alright Gina lets keep it plausible here.

Valid idea Sir/Madame but not sure if the Boston Science museum by itself is class trip material. Possibly a trip to Boston and a stop at the museum? Good call.

Alright and when commenting:
If you don't want to register fine, but at some point could you add your name to your post so we could get back personally?
But if you want to remain anonymous by all means feel free but with a name we can get a better sense of what's going on.

hey we went to this place this summer it was a ropes coarse with really cool stuff a bit pricy but possibly a group discount. not good for people who are afraid of heights cause it was about 50 ft up. there were big groups there tho.
this is their website

From the Oval Office:
Hey, I really like the idea for a high ropes course and jusging by the website this is a really cool place. I'm doing more research as to group pricing and on how many would be interested. Thanks for your great idea.

I think a boston trip would be pretty awsome. Or as casey said washington..good call casey!

casey said...

yes casey's idea was perfect

i like Caseys idea. and Ginas haha.
what about like natures class room? i dont know if you guys went there but its really awesome there.
or an NYC trip?
or a football/baseball game?

From a dark corner in Steve's basement:
Sorry to rain on anyone parade, but ropes courses (the big ones, not the kiddie ones we did in 6th grade) will need some pretty beastly insurance. They also are multi-day usually. Otherwise, it seems pretty solid and I'd like to go.

Anonymous said...

for the ropes coarse when we went we just needed sombody over 18 to sign for us and that was it really they did everything else and it took us about 3 and a half to 4 hours

Please elaborate, context is always nice. I'm pretty sure that when there is 140 goofball 9th graders monkeying around 50 ft. in the air, you need more than someone over 18's signature. Maybe on a family outing, but not on something that involves Calvin and an excuse for him to push you.

"on something that involves Calvin and an excuse for him to push you."

We probably shouldn't put names like that in here. Calvin is big. He could hurt us. Bad

Anonymous said...

Well if you were smart you wouldn't fool around 50ft up but that is a good point.

casey said...

a trip to the beach

Sarah :) said...

well seeing how everyone is using this so nicely ill leave a comment. i like the idea of going to Boston or even Washington D.C cause ive never been to DC but NYC would be nice too. all of those are good ideas but i think since we are such a rad class with tons of variety we should do something no other class would normally do. the plain old trips to wherever are fine but lets do something different. not sure what yet but if i think of something......

These are all fabulous ideas. Maybe a trip to Chicago or something would be great. It's a little bit more off of the beaten trail than say, Boston, NYC (but that would be fun!), or Washington DC. It still has great stuff to see and is a lot of fun. I've included a website full of information on tourism in Chicago, such as where to go, what to eat, etc.

Thanks for listening!

P.S. Ignore the whole Rhonda and trixie thing. Inside joke.

heyy so in spanish today we were talking about class trips and Will said he really liked going to moutain creek water park in new jersey last year. Ms. Streker doesnt like the idea about how it is a 4 hour bus ride but we could go to some other park or something. Some people said they would like to go to six flags in new jersey but that would be a long bus ride too.

casey said...

Well, like sarah said we should do something different since we are such an amazing class, but its difficult to fund for expensive and different things. If ssomething is closer, then it's most likely cheaper.

Anonymous said...

Boston, NYC. Or as Allison said.. The water park. Thats something we'd all enjoy i bet.

Caseys got some good ideas too...good job case

J. Flem said...

Almost everyone said....
"DC FTW!!!11!"

Well i personally looked into DC and i have to tell you....do you guys really want to learn about the founding fathers on a class trip? Washington is the center of the government and all but there aren't any exciting attractions. Unless you have a spire fetish....
<.<

"what about like natures class room? i dont know if you guys went there but its really awesome there."

I was just talking to my brother about that and he said it was amazing. I would love to do that and I am definetly considering this idea.

i think we should go on a NY free roam trip like the personal finance and business one

F**k ya! We'll just need a better movie selection. If anyone has a spire fetish, we should visit the empire state building.

Anonymous said...

Ya i like the idea of going to NY like rent a kingward and she ground zero or somthing idk mabey.

casey said...

Jamie, everyone likes my idea, you dont have to try and bring it down...

Anonymous said...

I think that we should go to NY it would be so much fun.

Anonymous said...

I think we should go to californa!>.< lol. i kinda know that it probly wont happen. but maybe we should go to hershey penn. because i've never been there and i love rides and i know lots of other ppl.do. umm well its an idea but we should totaly concider it =] lol

Anonymous said...

i also agree. we should do something no one has done before. i love the ideas for NYC, Boston, Washington DC, but those are so original. were the class of '12!! we need to do something totally out of the ordinary that people will be jealous of! >.> <.< sorry gotta little hyper there.

and while i love the idea of going back to hersey park or six flags...the only problem is that those are aumesment parks. some people hate that kinda thing

casey said...

NO
we go to 6 Flags waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much

talk abouut overdone.....

Class2012 said...

It would be cool if we could do an overnight thing somewhere dont know where but yeah. and def no ski trips cause i suck at skiing lol

Anonymous said...

Amusment park would be good
cept for 6 flags..like casey said way overdone

Anonymous said...

I agree with gina! just kidding, even though it would be really fun!

Sarah :) said...

NATURES CLASSROOM. yes. wicked idea! we never got to do that cause idk why but that would be cool to go!

casey said...

nature's classroom would be amazing. We were supossed to in 6th grade, but our class didnt get to.

Anonymous said...

what exactly is natures classroom

Anonymous said...

when i went to natures class room in 5th grade this is what it was: you stay there for 4 days and 3 nights, you get to do so amny activitys such as, a 5 mile hike one day, night walks, lots of games, you can take classes where you can do different things like making hemp necklaces, um dont really remember to many more classes, but you could do achary, and we didnt get to cuz we went in the winter but during the warmer months you get to go swimming and do a bunch of stuff on the lake. one of the best experiences of my life.

Anonymous said...

hey everyone
I agree with sarah, we need to do something different that everyone will want to do. Natures classroom is a good idea and everyone whos been has said they liked it. idk ill keep thinking

Anonymous said...

thanks for the explination!!
michelle

chelsea said...

Yeah a free roam N.Y.C trip would be fun.

it for anyone. what i explained was something us 5th graders did. they do different things for different age groups. everyone loves it there. it absoultly beautiful there. they are amazing. its never boring.

rizos8 said...

From the treasurer:

I dont think we can do any free roam activities in New York because there is 150 students in our grade and it is very easy for something wrong to happen. Also not everyone in our grade has the same maturity level some people are not responsible enough to do this activity.

Anonymous said...

for the free roaming of NYC idea....well its awesome but just thinking...how many parents would agree to that? i dont think a lot would be to crazy about their kids running around NYC. pls that place is so easy to get lost in.

Anonymous said...

I say we go to Idaho!!! And if not. I liked the Mystic Aqaurium... or like, maybe we spend a weekend at camp howe! ...or like camping at the DAR... but there is a lot of us.

Anonymous said...

Oh, and I do very much like the idea of Nature's classroom! I was cheated out of it! It made me sad inside D: haha, jk, jk.

Katherine said...

okay i don't think natures classroom is a good idea because thats not something "everyone can or would want to do". i think new york city would be fun, it doesn't need to be completely like.. free roam. we could do stuff as a class, like the wax museum and stuff. obviously there would be stuff that only the girls would wanna do (like saks fifth avenue, etc) but there's stuff for boys to do as well. i doubt we'd be able to do this without chaperones, soooo if we had some, then little groups could do their own thing with a chaperone and then meet back at the hotel or whatever at a certain time..
iii dont know, just something to think about

Anonymous said...

Katherine said...

what do you mean by "something not everyone could do"

Anonymous said...

I think natures classroom would be a great idea!

Katherine said...

michelle,
not everyone is interested in it is what i mean.
and by not everyone i mean more than one person who i've talked to

Sarah :) said...

okay so i guess i agree with katherine.
i would so much rather go to nyc!

Kay said...

Nature's Classroom? Is that seriously where you want to be for our class trip? I love nature and all but for our trip we should do something really exciting and worthwhile, and I think that hanging around in the woods and going on 5 mile hikes isn't really worth it to some people. I think it would be fun, and I would have no problem going if that's what's decided, but I really think we should come up with something that could be fun for anybody.

casey said...

okay well i dont think we should go to teh DAR or camp howe cuz a lot of ppl have already been there multiple times. natures classroom too. NYC would be fun but thats where a lot of clubs go to already.

Kay said...

That's true Casey, but isn't our point to do something original, and not follow other clubs? I mean I'm all for NYC, and I agree about the DAR because I've been there, but we really can come up with something really great I think, we just need the right idea.

casey said...

Thats what i was saying.

Kay said...

Oh, my bad Casey, I read quickly and missed a word or two. Then I agree!

casey said...

its okay, kay(:

J. Gorman said...

I like the idea of natures classroom because u get to pick ur activities so we can do what each individual likes. my sister went in 6th grade and said it was awesome cuz there was so much choices and u got to room with ur friendsss : D

Anonymous said...

hey i dont have any ideas right now but i really like the idea of the high ropes course. i think it would be a lot of fun and very exciting for everyone.

Anonymous said...

ok well i like the idea of the high ropes corse..but the only problem is that there are people who dont like being up high. or wouldnt feel safe (im not one of those people but i have friends who are)so what about them?

Anonymous said...

I agree with Michelle because I think it would be fun to go on a ropes course but there are people in our grade who wouldn't enjoy being high up at all.

Anonymous said...

your strapped in!!!

Anonymous said...

but.....just because you are strapped in doesn't mean those people won't be still scared.

I like this website its a water rafting trip up in main and we can make it for 5 days and do other thins also

Anonymous said...

white water rafting was so fun in the 6th grade!
I think that's a good idea!

Katherine said...

dimitri, that sounds awesomeeee!

J. Flem said...

well this whole thread has certainly gotten out of hand. Perhaps we could keep all replies out of the comments and make it Suggestion Only?

Anonymous said...

i think it is nice to hear other peoples comments about your ideas

Kay said...

5 day white water rafting trip, holy hell that's amazing!

Anonymous said...

5 day water rafting? that sounds awesome. but im confused....5 days of just water rafting? is that all you do?

Sarah :) said...

i really love the idea of the rafting trip!
5 days in maine! rafting which was really great when we went in 6th grade, sounds like an awesome time!

Sarah :) said...

i think there might be a problem though. it only is from may-october, and we cant really miss a lot of school. so unless we did after school got out,

rizos8 said...

Excuse me for not clarifying better on my previous post. We will be there for five days but we wont be white water rafting those five days. They have two different rivers in which will take two days. The two different rivers are two different levels of difficulty. They also have other activities. There is a two day adventure in the woods, rock climbing and this thing called fun yaking in which we use inflatable kayaks. There is also other things and if you do not want to do a certain activity then you dont need to do that activity each person will be able to do about 3 activities. Im really interested if people would want to go on the two day wilderness adventure tell meif you are interested in that. Thank you

Katherine said...

what exactly is the wilderness thing?

rizos8 said...

I have no idea what the wilderness adventure is i think its a two day hike through the woods. You don't need to go on the wilderness trip if you don't want to. i'll email the people to learn more about it.

Katherine said...

sweeet
i agree steve.

Anonymous said...

Well,
It's fine if no one wants to listen to the secretary, but he said that it's getting long and we should be putting just ideas and no "good idea"'s
thank you for your time.

Anonymous said...

i wanna go to where the pokemon roam

Anonymous said...

I like the white water rafting idea also

Kay said...

This blog and its suggestions wouldn't be as useful if no one gave their input on what's suggested.

Kay said...

the water rafting idea branches out from the basic nature's classroom-rope's course idea. I like it.

Anonymous said...

but most of us have done it before and if we did it should be a harder coarse level 4-5 rapids
norris 2 minutes of rapids is well not good.

Anonymous said...

I think we should do something fun and outside, i dont think being inside at an indoor waterpark all day would be fun. Theres not enough stuff to do, I think doing what the class of 2011 did is a good idea.
